For me, fulfilment is spending time doing what I want to be doing and choosing how I want to do it. In these posts, I share some of my reflections about what I enjoy doing and how I enjoy working as I develop my portfolio career.
Finding fulfilment also involves noticing and flexing where I am spending my time and energy so I can achieve a happy balance in and outside of work. This is not about finding an “ideal balance” and then trying to maintain it. Rather, the energy required to nourish the different segments in my “pie of life” changes over time.

I have found this a useful metaphor for assessing whether I am focussing my time and energy in the best way at different times in my life.
